Live Demo
This module was developed during an interview process as a prompt to create a learning object based on the content of a half-page PDF intended to teach children how to ask open-ended curious question, aiding in their social-emotional development. I gave some thought about my personal experience as an introverted child having to do social activities such as these, and how they implicitly say “if you’re an introvert, here’s an activity to help you be extroverted” (while conversely having minimal activities for extroverts to learn to be mindful or introspective). To help a student bridge this gap, I thought a gamified role-play e-learning would be effective, as it acts as a safe space to practice these social skills – with immediate and non-punitive feedback – to help enable students to grasp the concepts.
The primary challenge of this project was its deadline of one week, where this module was just one of three learning objects I wanted to create within the deadline. This meant I had only two to three days to complete this part to ensure I had enough time to complete the video (in part 1) and handout (in part 3).
